Whisker has launched the Litter-Robot EVO, a downsized version of its self-cleaning litter box designed for apartments and smaller homes. The device retains the core self-cleaning technology of larger models but fits in tighter spaces where traditional Litter-Robots won't work.

The EVO measures smaller than previous generations while maintaining the automatic waste removal system that separates clumps into a drawer below. Cats enter the globe-shaped box, and after they exit, sensors trigger a rake mechanism that sifts litter and deposits waste into a sealed compartment. This reduces odors and eliminates daily scooping for many owners.

Whisker engineered the EVO for households with one to two cats weighing up to 19 pounds each. The compact design makes it ideal for studio apartments, condos, and small bedrooms where space constraints previously ruled out automatic options. The waste drawer is smaller than standard Litter-Robot models, which means owners with multiple cats or those averse to frequent emptying may find it less convenient.

At $599, the EVO costs less than current full-size Litter-Robot models, making it the most affordable option in Whisker's self-cleaning lineup. The price positions it above traditional litter boxes but within reach for apartment dwellers tired of daily scooping.

Setup requires electricity for the automated cycle and Wi-Fi connectivity for the companion app, which sends notifications about litter levels and maintenance alerts. The globe design naturally contains litter scatter better than open boxes, a benefit for owners dealing with tracking issues.

Cat owners considering the EVO should evaluate their space dimensions before purchasing. The unit still requires clearance around the entrance for cats to comfortably enter and exit. Litter type matters too, as the rake system works best with clumping clay litter.
